Following the burning down of an Indonesian Christian Church on October 13th, Indonesian Christians are asking for prayer, especially for Christians living in the Aceh Singkil regency, Aceh province.
The torching of the church happened after a social media message was spread by Muslim extremists on Friday, urging action against Christian churches.
Leading up to this burning, Pastor Erde, whose church was also torched last month, witnessed hundreds of extremists marching to the police and legislative offices to demand the closure of all churches in the regency.
There are about 10 churches in Aceh Singkil.
“Every church member is guarding their own church right now. Please pray that there won’t be any more church demolitions today,” said Pastor Erde.
- Pray for the Indonesian believers, especially those caught up in the increasingly violent situation in Aceh Singkil. Pray for protection on believers, their families, homes and churches.
- Pray for the Muslim groups in Aceh Singkil, that they will have dreams and visions of Jesus, and come to know the truth of the Gospel.
- Pray for courage for Indonesian Christians, that they will continue to witness to the truth of the Gospel in an increasingly hostile environment.
