In Sanaa, the Yemen Capital, dozens of people are reportedly dead and injured following Wednesday’s coordinated attacks on at least three mosques and the political bureau of the Ansarullah movement of the Houthis.
An armed group linked to the ISIL has claimed responsibility, stating that the attacks were in “revenge” against Shia Houthis, who have overrun Sanaa and much of the Sunni majority country in the past year.
The attacks occurred as Muslims around the world prepared for the start of the holy month of Ramadan, and as peace talks in Geneva, aimed at halting the fighting in Yemen, continued until today, all be it with little sign of any progress.
- Pray for Yemen and the many civilians caught up in the middle of the fighting. Pray for aid, medical help and supplies of food and water to get to those who need it most.
- Pray for the peace talk in Geneva, to make real progress in a way forward for lasting peace in Yemen.
- Pray that other factions, including ISIL, will not gain any foothold in Yemen.
- Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit over this nation during this time of Ramadan.
