“Muslims are jumping into the net!” – Syrian Church Growing

Davar Partners International (DPI) is a Bible agency that has the goal of giving over 5 billion people access to an audio Bible in a language they can understand. They record and distribute audio-Bibles across many nations, including the Syria and the Middle  East.

Last year, 2016, one of their workers reported : “Muslims are jumping into the net!” and DAVAR talk of the privilege that it is to share God’s spoken Word with Syrian refugees.

One Syrian pastor said his church in Aleppo went from 120 to 600 in 2016, and, when others began to talk about persecution, he quickly insisted, “We are not the persecuted church! We, the church, are the solution to the people of Syria.”

According to one of the DAVAR staff working in Syria, an even bigger harvest is waiting. “We had several times of prayer. I saw their tears fall onto the floor. I was caught up in the sincerity of their prayers. They are not fooling around! They had such sincerity. They were actually weeping for their countries and what is happening there.”

“It is astonishing,” an Operation Mobilisation worker said, describing this movement of Muslims who want to follow Jesus. “Even small churches are baptising 10-15 people, all from Muslim families.”

• Give thanks for the amazing numbers of Muslims across Syria and amongst refugees who are coming to know Christ.
• Pray for these new believers, many of whom face persecution for their new found faith. Pray for their encouragement, discipleship, strength of faith and courage.
• Pray for the Church in Syria, as it continues to be a beacon of light in this war ravaged nation.
• Pray for the continued move of God amongst Muslims in the Middle East, and for the ongoing distribution of audio Bibles, for many to encounter Jesus Christ in life changing ways, and for lives and communities to be transformed through the grace, and healing love of Jesus.
