Pray for Central Asian Believers
Open Doors International are requesting prayer for a Christian man in Central Asia.
Valentin*, suffers from epilepsy, and is currently going through severe harassment from his family because of his faith.
As a part of this harassment, both his younger brother and daughter-in-law forbid him from praying at home.
Last week, Valentin was beaten so badly by his family that, to avoid being killed, he escaped from his house in the middle of the night wearing only his socks and underwear.
He ran away and found shelter in a facility for homeless people. His mother, who is involved in witchcraft and divination, is threatening to throw Valentin into a psychiatric hospital if he does not refute his faith in Christ.
Valentin is standing strong while enduring persecution from his family. He recently said: “In case they will try to kill me, I will never refuse my faith in my Lord Jesus Christ … never!”
- Pray for Valentin, and many Central Asian believers, who are facing daily opposition to their faith from their families and communities. Pray for strength and courage, and also for the peace and presence of God to fill and surround them day by day.
- Pray for the families and communities who oppose Christianity, for a revelation of Jesus and for the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts and bring them to know the truth of the gospel.
- Pray for the Church in Central Asia as it faces growing pressure from Islam and from the governments. Pray for unity, strength and depth of faith that will withstand this opposition.
- Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit across Central Asia this year.
John 16 vs 33: “I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!’ “
