The Greatest Gift of All.
Christmas day. The day when, as C.S Lewis wrote, “The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God.”
The Gift that was given over 2000 years ago is just as applicable to the world today as it ever has been. And never has there been a time when the world needed to know of the gift of Jesus as much as it does today.
The Gift that never grows old, doesn’t run out of batteries or wear out, never goes out of fashion. The gift of life, love, grace, hope, forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration.
As we celebrate this Christmas and remember the greatest gift ever given to people, let’s take time to pray that many across the troubled nations of the Interserve world today will also come to recognise this gift that is for them, to know the amazing grace of Jesus and find renewed hope in His Gospel and love.
The greatest gift of all, that is Immanuel, God with Us.
Isaiah 9 vs 2, 6 – 7: “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness – on them light has shined. For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onwards and for evermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”
